Trust builds on itself
A little poem about trusting you
trust builds
on itselfthat one
terrifying
step you
take that
actually
goes okayleads to
another
shaky stepand another
each one
shows your
body
a story
it couldn’t
believeuntil you
chose to
trust
you
Reflection Questions
Where in your life are you standing at the edge of a “terrifying step” right now—and what makes it feel risky in your body?
Can you remember a moment when you took a small risk and it “actually went okay”? What did that experience begin to teach your body about trust?
What is one gentle, doable next step you could take? Not to prove anything, but simply to offer your body a new story about what’s possible?
Let’s Hang Out - A Retreat Invitation for May 1-3
Are you within driving distance of Washington state? Want to spend a few days with me and some wonderful friends? It’s at Warm Beach Conference Center near Stanwood, Washington, right on the Puget Sound.
Gently Fierce is a retreat for women who want to stay soft without disappearing—and strong without hardening. This is not a retreat about fixing the world. It’s about staying awake, loving, and alive within it.
The weekend will offer restful rhythms to help participants reconnect, beginning with softening and honest reflection, then grounding through spiritual practices and community. Attendees will explore courage as compassionate openness and loving boundaries. Sunday includes worship and communion, emphasizing that gentle strength is a gift. The retreat balances activities, conversation, reflection, and poetry, creating space to recharge while acknowledging real-world challenges.
