my body curves inward
attempting to protect
any true vulnerability
from escaping
fear keeps me closed
like a brittle plant
dying of need
aching for streams
that replenish
and renew
my body strains
toward the warm sun
believing a new story
is possible
one of safety
connection
nourishment
and love
for now
this body breathes
itself open
even when all it knows
is how to close
Yes! This is so touching. Thank you.
You have captured the uncertainty of times of transition. Your poem spoke to me in my own struggles to adjust to change. Thank you!
