the late afternoon sun
skips across leaves overhead
a breeze whips through
as leaves rattle and cling
to their summer home
this is not the sound
of newly green leaves
full of vibrant life
ready for their summer
of shade and sun
this is the sound of
brittle dying leaves
entering their last days
at home
do they know they’ll die?
do they know they’ll fall?
i think they do
they know the secret
be your full self
in this moment
and let go when it’s time
soon
it will be time
to begin
again
Dear readers — I’ve been annoyingly vague about some new chapter of The Thread coming soon. I’ll tell you everything next week! I’ve been sitting on a wild story for almost a year now and it finally feels like it’s time to share. As we pull threads around here, I have a feeling this thread is going to take us somewhere new. We’ll find out together!
My sister and I. We never thought we’d be living in the same town again, let alone the same neighborhood! Now life is kids on walkie-talkie’s, sharing leftovers in the street, walking our dogs, and dropping off yummy drinks at work. Grateful for this surprising chapter.
Also — I adore public speaking and preaching. It’s one of my most favorite things to do. For our new friends — thought I’d share a clip of that with you!
I love this!
My life isn't what I planned, nor hoped, it would be. These writings take me away for a bit. I do so enjoy them.🥀
